Digital Leadership – Can you keep up and pass yourself off as a native?

In the ever changing world of technology, it can sometimes seem difficult to stay on the cutting edge.  In the schools, it is even more important for educational leaders to stay ahead of current technology practices.  According to Tonya Roscorla, there are several important “ingredients” of a digital leader:

1.  become fluent
2.  develop new ideas
3.  take risks
4.  understand the change of the times
5.  collaborate
6.  model and coach others

I found it very helpful to associate the responsibilities of a digital leader with key ingredients of a recipe.  Her article sums it up:

It really got me thinking about how much I don’t know about the current digital age.  How can administrators make it so teachers like me feel comfortable incorporating digital education in the classroom?

So, what kind of digital leader will you be?  Will you be speaking fluently or will you be using an interpreter?
