Did you know that October is Connected Educator Month as proclaimed by the U.S. Department of Education? Well, neither did I. In a recent ASCD post online regarding getting “connected”, educators are urged to try many new things. Among them include: trying out social media and signing up for http://connectededucators.org/. There are webinars almost hourly that will enhance your connectivity.
While visiting a recent blog -http://willrichardson.com/, I was struck by the importance of how we as future educational leaders need to know how technology will transform our schools and culture. As Mr. Richardson mentions in his “What’s Your Vision” blog post, as leaders, “what’s stopping us from building our own Center for Innovation?” I love his closing remarks that include, “bold leadership is about ideas first and ideas cost nothing.”
So, get connected this month and begin cultivating ideas that you will have the guts to take into action.
