Boomers vs. Boomerangs

I came across this article and immediately had a flashback of Pink’s book on motivation. This opinion piece highlights some of the fundamental differences regarding workplace expectations between older and younger generations of workers. I think every job field will begin to see a paradigm shift in viewpoints as replacements for retirees regularly come from a “pool of people [who thrive on positive reinforcement, expect flexibility and opportunity, are not intimidated by hierarchy, and won’t linger in an unsatisfactory situation].” What kind of leader will you be? Will you adapt to changing expectations in the workplace? Finding the appropriate balance of autonomy in the field of education will be one of our greatest challenges.
