The “Why” in great leaders

These videos and articles touch on the importance of leaders having a strong purpose and why.  In the first video, at the bottom of the first link, he refers to a golden circle that includes the why, how, and what of a leader.  He suggests and uses examples through Apple, Martin Luther King, Jr and the Wright brothers that the why is what inspired and drove to them be successful.   When thinking about this in the school setting, the why, the purpose or the belief is what makes us do what we do each day for our schools and students.  The rest of what and how we do it, come from our why and purpose that we believe in.  How successful are leaders without a why?
